Idle Wolf is an iconic blues-rock trio founded in Helsinki in 2002.

Early Years

The band was originally founded as a trio but very soon transformed into a quartet with John Secondhand on rhythm guitar, Jack King on Bass and Sähläri on drums. In 2003 Idle Wolf released their well-reviewed debut five song EP “Outta Blue”, and toured aggressively the Helsinki live music scene. However, the rock n’ roll lifestyle took its toll and the original line up started to crack as a symptom of too much everything.

The Comeback

in 2005 the band returned to the scene with a brand new line up with Kenneth Berger on drums and various bass players. This line up released an EP called “Orange Purple” which very quickly sold out and created a buzz around the band. During the following years the band toured periodically the Finland rock scene.

This line up’s years culminated in the release of an original LP through Twig Beach Records in 2013.

3rd line up

The third line up was introduced to the world in 2013 with Specthorn on drums and Gizmo on bass. During this line up the band has shifted from the hard rock more to the bluesier side of things. The band has been touring the blues and rock bars around Finland and also a successful tour in London, England in 2014. This line up has also been involved in corporate work, weddings and parties playing mostly rock and blues covers and getting people to the dance floor.
